In 2008, BrightHouse was UK Winner in the Green Apple Environmental Best Practice Award. Moreover, the company won the ‘Best High Street Retailer’ category of the 2008 National Recycling Awards Scheme.
National Recycling Awards
BrightHouse won the ‘Best High Street Retailer’ category of the 2008 National Recycling Awards scheme. The award recognises BrightHouse’s dedication to environmental sustainability through our end of life packaging recycling project. The project recycles goods that are beyond economic repair, as well as packaging materials returned to the store. The process of striving for more coherent environmental protection practices have been a valuable contributor to further enhancing employee morale, as well as yielding efficiency benefits of some £250,000 per annum for the business.
Green Apple Environmental Best Practice Award
In 2008, BrightHouse was UK Winner in the Green Apple Environmental Best Practice Award. The Green Apple awards are based on the various criteria: social and economic benefits, innovation, quantitative evidence of impact and possible adoption by others. Green Apple awards for environmental best practice are presented by The Green Organisation, an independent, non-political and non-profit environment group.
