Regulation and best practice
BrightHouse is regulated by the FCA and is an active member of the FLA.

BrightHouse has always been a regulated business. We are regulated and authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), which took over from the Office of Fair Trading in April 2014.   Our Financial Services Register number is 695094.

We maintain a positive dialogue and welcome greater regulatory scrutiny. In order to put the customer first in all we do, we have increased investment in infrastructure and continue to strengthen our processes and procedures.

Compliance. Training for our colleagues includes a strong focus on respect for customers and compliance with both the spirit and letter of regulations. We have an experienced full-time Director of Compliance and an extensive compliance team.

Governance. We have a robust structure. Below the Board are the Audit and Risk Committee, the Remunerations and Nominations Committee and the Executive Committee. Reporting to the Executive Committee are the Compliance and Risk Committee and the Trading Operations Committee.

BrightHouse is an active member of the Finance & Leasing Association (FLA) and complies with the FLA's Lending Code, which sets out best practice in consumer lending.
